Want Colleges to look At
You?: Try the California Scholarship Federation
by Adam Hill
Every high
school in California
incorporates the California
Scholarship Federation (CSF) to
commend outstanding high school
students based on the difficulty
of the classes. The Federation
is to have colleges recognize
those highly academic students.
Membership is based on academic
achievement and the types of
classes taken by the student,
NOT THE GPA! All sophomores,
juniors, and seniors are
eligible for this Federation as
well as second semester
freshmen.
They base your application on
your previous semester's classes
and grades. All classes are
broken up into three levels from
hardest to least difficult. If
you are in CSF for four
semesters you receive a lifetime
membership and are given a gold
tassel to wear during
graduation. It is also put on
your diploma and can be placed
on college applications. If
you're part of CSF for six
semesters you receive a 100%
membership and a gold stole to
wear on your graduation day.
The California Scholarship
Federation is a great way to get
noticed by major colleges.
Listen to the announcements for
when these applications will be
available.
