Warrior football is on fire, as the junior varsity team holds their high rank in the Bay Area. During their first game against San Lorenzo Valley High School, the Warriors executed perfect defensive and offensive skills with a win of 41-0. This wwas a great way to kick off the season. Defensive coach,
Doug Canepa, expects great things from the Junior Varsity team this year. During their second game, the Warriors managed to shut out the Pittsburg Pirates with a win of 20-0. Sophomore running back
Anthony Olivarez, stated, "This year's team is going to be awesome. We've been training for this for months; now it's time to show everyone our talents." Olivarez, nmber six, has several touchdowns under his belt so far this season and will continue to help raise the scoreboard each game.
Although the Warriors didn't manage to secure a win against Grant of Sacramento, the boys played a great game. The Warriors managed to hold Grant for several quarters, and the game ended with a score of 7-16 Grant. A heartbreaking loss was the end result of the game against West High School from Tracey. The Warriors had managed to dominate the scoreboard for the majority of the game, but in the last final minutes of the fourth quarter, Tracy managed to score on the Warrior's defense. Unfortunately the J.V. team could not make a comeback and ended the game with a 20-21 defeat. From these two games the Warriors have been able to grow and learn. The losses have enabled them to fight back even stronger.
