Up and coming gospel quartet
Men of Standard bring a
fresh, new style of worshipping
God. The group was originally
founded by two of the members,
Isaac Carree and
Lowell Pye. They soon added
local artists Bryan Pierce
and Michael Bacon to the
roster. They have since recorded
three albums; the latest one, "Surrounded,"
was released this summer in July
2006.
Men of Standard are known
for successfully creating a
harmony that instills a smooth,
rhythm-and-blues feel similar to
Boyz II Men, while
incorporating lyrics that exalt
the greatness of God. Track 1 on
their album, titled "I Will," is
actually a dance anthem
encouraging people who are
struggling with sin or hard
times to hang on to the Lord,
and to trust in Him who can
enable you to accomplish
anything your heart desires. The
entire album is filled with
songs that will make you want to
get up and move. Be sure to keep
an eye out for this talented,
God-inspired group.
If you haven't already picked up
the renowned "Hero" CD by
Kirk Franklin or the "Victory
Live" CD by Tye Tribbett,
be sure to buy those when you
get a chance. Let their sounds
flow through your veins as you
celebrate the love of God.
