Making Summer Memories That Last

Althought summer is over, many memories were made and will live on throughout the year and for some, thoughout their lives. Whether you traveled around the country, around the world, or simply drove down to the beach, the summer is that time to kick back and make memories.

Junior Tori Bergland went on vacation the week before school started to Puerto rico with her family. Tori and family stayed at the Carribean Hilton for six days. She shared that this hotel was interesting because it is where the popular drink Pina Coladas were invented in 1954. The family had an amazing time on this summer vacation.

Senior Melanie Miller spent eleven days of her summer in Mall Orca, an island off the coast of Spain. Melanietraveled with her dad and her best friend in her father's yacht. She had so much traveling around the coast of Spain.

Freshman Rachael Alvey spent five days of her summer in Atlanta, Georgia for the annual volleyball Junior Olympics. She and her USA 14's team stayed in the Ritz Carlton. Her team took 11th place out of 200. "This was so fun and exciting, we got to see some of the best teams!" Alvey exclaimed.

Nathan Goldsmith, a senior, spent a month of his summer in Kenya, Africa. This is where he was born and has a house. He had a great time and many fun experiences, like going on several safaris!
