Spotlight Athlete: Ali Cheadle Establishes VC Soccer Legacy

by Alyssa Berding

Many players have difficulty finding the back of the net, but that has never been a problem for Ali Cheadle. As the highest goal scorer for the Lady Warriors, Cheadle’s intensity and dedication has made her a key contributor to the girls soccer program.

“Ali Cheadle is an important part of our team,” remarked varsity coach Jolene Keel. “Her contributions reach further than her tremendous soccer abilities. She is a leader and a dedicated teammate.”

Over the last four years, her presence on the field has aided her varsity team in two CCS championship wins and they are working on making it a third this year. She has been featured in the San Jose Mercury News as the Athlete of the Week and has been awarded honorable mention all-CCS. As a forward/ midfielder, Cheadle is a vital playmaker in the Warrior’s offense. With her charisma and excellent work ethic, she leads her team by example.

Since the age of five, Cheadle has lived for the game of soccer. She currently plays on the Mountain View/ Los Altos Menace during the club season and wants to continue to play in college. She has been offered an athletic scholarship from Oklahoma Christian University, where she plans to attend next fall. Be sure to keep an eye on this shining athlete in the coming years as she leaves Valley Christian and takes a leap into her bright future.
