Valentine’s Day is supposed to be memorable and special for couples in love, but sometimes things don’t turn out the way it is planned. Some of our VCHS staff shares their precious memories of Valentine’s Day.
Miss Claypool:
“My most memorable Valentine’s day was when my boyfriend took me skiing in Colorado. He asked me to his Air Force ring dance, it’s like a prom, so it was a big thing for our relationship.”
Mr. Malek:
“I have never had anyone special to enjoy the holiday with by the fire. This Valentine’s Day will be awesome.”
Mrs. Gratsinopoulos:
“My all-time fave was when my boyfriend at the time made me this (child-like) Valentine’s Day heart and left it at my front porch really early in the morning. He had thrown candy hearts all over and he purposefully left out “MARRY ME” so I wouldn’t think he was proposing. He was scared that the raccoons were going to come and destroy it so he called me at three in the morning. I was a little freaked out so I went outside and found it! It was the sweetest thing ever!”
Mr. Torode:
“My wife and I got all dressed up and went to a restaurant on Valentine’s Day hoping we get table, but little did we know we needed a reservation. So we ended up eating at McDonalds.”
Mr. Lodewyk:
“I wanted to be romantic so I took my wife away for Valentine’s Day. We decided to take a walk along the beach and all of a sudden a huge wave wipes out my wife completely. I was perfectly dry. And then she cut her foot on a piece of glass on the beach. I wanted it to be a special night for her, but it ended up being a disaster for her, not me.”
