Feisty J.V. Boys Soccer Team Finishes Season on a Positive Note

by Adam Hill

Rarely has the WCAL had the depth of the athletes this season contains. The varsity boys basketball team has fought long and hard.
This year’s team has come out victorious in 9 games, but unfortunately on the lower end 15 games.

With a win over rival St. Francis, the Warriors are on an uphill climb.

The postseason is where all of the hard work and dedication pay off. For this year’s team they should be looking very strong with the 13 points per game average by senior Andrew Daou and the outside shot by freshman Max Hooper along with the height of junior Tyler Gallau and the fresh legs of the recent varsity add-ons. Junior Ryan Eshoff has contributed much with his utility style play and ball handling.

Seniority may come in numbers with only two this year, but the leadership abilities by Daou and Mike Lampkin help lead the strong team into the postseason. This young team includes freshmen Hooper and Kyle Travis.

The team has recently had a battle against powerhouse Sacred Heart Cathedral coming up on the lower end 44-48. Rival Bellarmine put up a fight resulting in a score of 54-51 with the Warriors on top.

Much adversity has come upon this year’s team but fortunately things are looking strong entering the postseason.
