What are You For?

by Corban Fennell

At the beginning of this school year, ASB selected the theme “What Are You For?” and throughout these past months the paper has asked members of Valley Christian to answer the question, what they are for.

When I was asked to write the article for this month I thought to myself how this would a great opportunity to search myself and really ask myself what I am for. Naturally when I asked myself this I thought, “Well I am for tons of things” and started to count the numerous little and minor things. When I really sat down in front of the computer wondering where to start, I thought I should start what really matters to me first, and that is my relationship with God. Most of the time I would try my best to honor God in everything I do but of course being human has its set backs but one of the most prominent one is that I AM HUMAN and that means that I am not perfect. I am a teenager that has been though many things both good and bad, and have decided that God is who I want to be for and His mission is what I strive to be for.

Throughout my high school career I told myself, “this is the year I’m going become closer to God,” and each year I undoubtedly failed myself. Finally during the course of my senior year I have been getting closer to putting God first, which is what I am for.
